Fort Detrick is home to various biomedical research and development organizations.
Mainstream manufactured a custom air handling unit to fit an extremely small footprint area. The location was in an existing mechanical room serving a cancer research center.
To do this, the return fans were installed on the top of the unit, creating a u-flow configuration. The team furnished the unit in modules designed to fit through a small outside air intake on the side of the building.
