Mainstream Fluid & Air, a leading fan system manufacturer, has dedicated itself to perfecting the intricate balance between reliability and flexibility in fan control systems. We want to take you on a deep dive into our state-of-the-art fan control panels, illustrating how our standard and premium options cater to your specific needs.
Standard Control System
Mainstream Fluid & Air’s standard design features a single-point power and control panel. This system comes equipped with a main disconnect, manual protection for each fan, surge protection, a local speed dial, an HOA switch, and a 1-10V BMS input. Our standard control system is grounded on the reliability of analog systems.
These controls are engineered for direct wiring to the drives and motors, ensuring dry contact enablement and analog speed control. With the assurance of reliable hardwired control, our standard system eliminates any worries that might come with more complex control methods. This simplicity makes potential troubleshooting quick and straightforward, providing an additional level of comfort for big institutional and critical facility end users.
Moreover, the standard design includes options for hand operation. This means if you ever encounter a failed BMS or PLC, you can easily switch over and bypass the issue, maintaining optimal operational efficiency.

Premium Control System
For facilities seeking additional data and advanced control options, we have developed a premium control system. This system includes a touchscreen controller for local performance monitoring, BACnet integration for remote monitoring, and precise airflow monitoring.
The premium control system comes with three layers. The first two layers are shared with the standard system: panel door control and hardwired control. The panel door control allows fan operation right from the panel door, requiring no outside intervention, only power.
The third layer is where the premium system truly shines: the BACnet control. With this feature, drive data, alerts, airflow information, and customer-specified sensor data can be sent to the BMS via Ethernet or 2-wire protocols. Commands can also be received for fan speed or customized components like dampers.
An advantage of the premium system is its ability to provide individualized data for the drives, alarm status, active alarm code, and multiple customizations that can significantly reduce the expense of retrofit projects. With our premium controls, each fan’s speed, status, voltage, current, and power can be monitored either locally on the touchscreen or remotely via BACnet/Modbus.
The Best of Both Worlds
Choosing between the standard and premium control systems from Mainstream Fluid & Air means selecting the solution that best suits your facility’s requirements. Both systems have been designed with user convenience and system longevity at the forefront.
Regardless of the control system you opt for, all of our panels come with a main disconnect, as well as individual disconnects for each fan. This means that you will be able to swap out a fan if needed, ensuring your system maintains optimal efficiency.
The unique designs of our control systems, with the inherent reliability of analog and the increased data points of BACnet (Digital), ensure you get the best of both worlds. Mainstream Fluid & Air is committed to providing you with robust, reliable, and easy-to-use fan systems, optimizing your operational efficiency and peace of mind.
