Problem:
Failed Fan
One of the fans failed catastrophically, causing an unacceptable loss of airflow. Rebuilding the existing fans was estimated to take at least four weeks, and a direct replacement was quoted with eight-week lead times.

Equipment Being Replaced:
Two 150-horsepower belt-driven plenum fans in a large air handler serving operating rooms and acute care patient rooms.
Solution:
Hospital Fan Replacement
Cooper University Hospital hired Highland Associates, an engineering consulting firm, to source a replacement as quickly as possible. Mainstream was able to quote and deliver a replacement fan array of fifteen 17.5 horsepower fans in under 2 weeks.
This solution provided the facility with redundancy and significantly improved efficiency and reliability. The facility is now retrofitting further air handling units with IntelliCUBE fan arrays.
